Well, what to say, Ill keep it brief and informal.
This all started out as a side project; there is an event held here every year in the San Francisco Bay Area called Folsom Street Fair. A lot of people I met there (continue to meet), often after talking, I found that almost everyone I had met at one point or another was two things; 1. Artistic minded, and 2. a Dungeons & Dragons, gaming geek. So essentially I did the math, and put two and two together, combining BDSM & Fetish related themes with 28mm-32mm miniatures. Well, long story short, it was a success. People began buying and collecting them locally, and it became our very own unique niche we had created. A lot of people I found, still had the love to paint and collect minis, loved to build little dioramas, but lacked the time to do formal gaming. (Life can be that way sometimes.) But the love for the hobby still, and always will remain. Moreover, I have found that I truly DO like our customer base; most people that I have met, that dig our stuff are very tender, caring, loving people, animal lovers, and animal rights activists.
As I write this, that was about one year ago to this date. With the momentum gained, I have now decided to branch out into other genres. Both the misses, and a few friends are signing on. Lets see where we can go with this. For the time being, it is still technically a side project, (I do have other gigs I must see to) but inevitably I foresee it taking center stage in the near future. Art and Gaming for me essentially, has been not only a culture, but a way of life. It is what I live for. Cult cinema horror, B-movies, film noir, gothic horror, and Spaghetti Westerns, have always played a heavy influence. As such, new genres are now being explored. I am quite eager to see where we are at, one year from now... |
